Fall of  2001 I found car for a very reasonable price in the neighboring province (about 400 miles away), I made the deal and went with a friend and a truck & trailer and went to pick it up.

The maiden voyage down the track!!!!!

Well to make a long story short.........

My year of racing has begun just as 2000 had ended!!!!

BROKEN!!!!

Hmmmm I seem to be missing something here!

I went out with ET Streets along wanting to try them out to keep launches consistent, Tonights fun was in preparation for Sundays points race.

Runs on May 24 2002 (Before Breakage)

Run # 1 2 3 4 5 6
Reaction Time .047 .099 .597(Pro light) .067 .130 .079
60 foot time 2.380 2.481 2.381 2.324 2.384 2.392
ET 14.604 14.805 14.532 14.454 14.607 14.635
MPH 96.4.03 95.058 96.409 96.007 95.989 95.745

Happily I was able to limp the car home, and then tore into it and found that I had broken the spider gears in the posi unit.

I am hoping that I can get it back together tomorrow night in time for racing sunday, after I get home from teching at the track tomorrow.

Wish me Luck , it seems as though I am going to need it!

May 25, 2002

Well by 11:30 the car was up and running once again, I think I have decided that I am going to throw the ET Streets on and see what this thing will do.

Stay tuned tomorrow for more breakage!!!

May 26, 2002

Race day came with beautiful conditions, good air, no wind and sunny!

I decided to run the ET Streets.

My first run, being quite leery of what I am working with and my habit of taking Rearends, Trannies, axles, etc out on the line when the car hooks hard, I left with  relatively low rpm, and bogged the crap out of it.

That was the story of the day, with my car, I could not get through the hook, it bogged hard on every run.

Run # 1 2 3 4-Dial in 14.50 5
Tires ET Streets ET Streets ET Streets ET Streets Comp T/A's
Reaction Time .003 -.087 -.009 .010 -146
60 foot time 2.478 2.258 2.247 2.418 2.383
ET 14.800 14.408 14.401 14.739  (Loss) 14.738
MPH 91.215 96.990 96.959 95.550 95.502

The wind came up and the air went away a bit, and I was just trying to get a handle on what I could do to get a # to run.

I wanted to try it one time with the street tire's and got too much tire spin, and then let loose in second gear as well.

All in all the car worked pretty well for what it is, and I just really hope that for the next points race the ragtop will be running (I have decent parts that should hold together) , that way I don't have to worry about running something that I know is most likely to break!

Not bad #'s

Well it seems as though, a little bit of playing would get me very close to actually needing a helmet!

This run was a grudge match against a friend of mine with a 99 Camaro SS (beautiful car!).

Just in case you haven't figured it out my # is 302!

This is the fastest the car has run to date, and it would have run a 13 if I could have gotten the thing off the line a little better, but really this is pretty quick for what I have in the car!
